Huangs Prevented from Leaving Qatar
Despite being declared innocent by the court of appeals earlier today and told they can go home, Matt and Grace Huang have been barred from leaving the middle eastern country of Qatar. According to The New York Times, the couple arrived at the airport only to be informed by immigration that they were not allowed to leave and forced to hand over their passports.
In a statement, Matt Huang said “This has been an emotional trial for me and my family, Grace and I want to go home and be reunited with our sons. We have been unable to grieve our daughter’s death. But we want to thank the judge for today’s decision.”
According to The New York Times it is unknown at this time when the Huangs will be allowed to return home and be reunited with their sons.
